Madrid Highlights Tour

A Journey through Madrid’s History, from its Medieval Origins to the Modern City.Introducción a la historia de Madrid

This guided walking tour through Madrid’s historic centre offers a broad overview of the city, from its Muslim origins to the present day. Along the way, we explore the main stages of Madrid’s history: the Middle Ages, the Habsburg era, the Bourbon period and the major transformations of the 20th and 21st centuries.
The itinerary combines essential highlights—such as Plaza Mayor and the area around the Royal Palace—with quieter streets and lesser-known corners, offering a chance to discover another side of the city.

Throughout the walk, we explore a wide range of topics—from popular legends to royal weddings—and evoke some of the key figures in Spanish history who left their mark on Madrid: Philip II, Diego Velázquez, Charles III, Francisco de Goya, Benito Pérez Galdós and many others.

This tour is particularly recommended for visitors discovering Madrid for the first time, as well as for anyone looking for a comprehensive introduction to the history and development of the Spanish capital.
